AFP Patronato San Vincenzo, Italy

The association “Patronato San Vincenzo” was founded in Bergamo in 1927, with the aim of hosting young people and children in difficult economic and social conditions and of giving them professional and technical competences and abilities. This reality evolved in the actual non-profit association “Associazione Formazione Professionale del Patronato San Vincenzo” (in short, AFP) that offers training and educational services since 1956. The association considers continuing education as a fundamental and strategic resource for social and economic development of companies and it always looks for new formative and learning methods. Its four offices, in Bergamo, Clusone, Endine Gaiano and Sorisole, are recognised by “Regione Lombardia” and they work within its vocational training and lifelong learning projects framework. In the office of Bergamo, in 2007 was founded the “Agenzia per il lavoro”, an agency offering services for the job seekers and unemployed, that provides help with skills that may reintegrate them into the job market, thanks to vocational training and career guidance courses. The Agency addresses immigrants, people aged over fifty years, disabled people and young persons with a difficult background.

AFP is enrolled at the regional register of entities accredited for:

There are more than 1000 students attending Vocational Education and Training three-year courses, such as machine tool operator, car repairing worker, secretary and administrative worker, multimedia graphic, electronics worker and electrician, touristic and entertainment organizer. AFP manages several national and international projects aiming at providing career guidance, fighting against Early School Leaving and cultural integration of non-Italian students. To these ends, teams of educators, psychologists and pedagogues are engaged, together with the use of inclusive teaching methods and information technology tools that help students with special educational needs.
